4 Etiqa Insurance Berhad
Mayban Fortis Holdings Berhad was formed in 2001 as collaboration between Malaysia's largest local bank, Malayan Banking Berhad (Maybank) and Fortis International NV, one of the largest providers of integrated financial services in Europe.

In 2005, Mayban Fortis grew significantly with the acquisition of Malaysia National Insurance Berhad, Malaysia's largest national insurer and its subsidiary, Takaful Nasional Sdn Bhd, Malaysia's premier Takaful provider. Financially, the merger catapulted Mayban Fortis to the position of second largest insurer in Malaysia.

At the end of 2007, the merger effort with Malaysia National Insurance and Takaful Nasional culminated in the rebranding of the entire Insurance and Takaful group to the new brand name - Etiqa. In view of the consolidations, Etiqa has decided to standardize on a single platform for the Core Non-Life (General Insurance and Takaful General) Solution.

eBaoTech GeneralSystem Version 3.1 is adopted in January 2010 thru a legacy system replacement project. eBaoTech GeneralSystem Version 3.1 is also being considered for Etiqa's operation in other countries.

A leading life insurer in Singapore and Malaysia, with over 2.4 million policyholders and more than 4 million individual in-force policies, Great Eastern's choice of eBaoTech as a partner for this critical project demonstrates confidence in our products and strong implementation capability. Implementation of eBaoTech LifeSystem in the Singapore and Malaysia operations are ongoing and the company plans to roll-out eBaoTech Systems to all its Asian businesses in the future.

Great Eastern Life opens its joint venture in China on June 19, 2006. Great Eastern Life Assurance (China) Co. Ltd. uses eBaoTech LifeSystem as its core insurance system.



4 NTUC Income
Legacy replacement with eBaoTech's LifeSystem and GeneralSystem
NTUC Income, one of Singapore's largest insurers, has more than one million individual life insurance policies, half a million insured lives in group policies, 500,000 general insurance policies, and annual premium income of around USD 2 billion. eBaoTech successfully implemented eBaoTech LifeSystem and eBaoTech GeneralSystem, including the customization of the original packages, integration to other systems and data migration from the legacy HP3000 system. Now both Income's life and general insurance operations are running on one integrated platform, providing the best straight through processing workflow, maximum flexibility and a fully customer centric view.

4 Taiping Life of China (a Fortis-invested company)
Implementation of eBaoTech LifeSystem

Taiping Life of China has been using eBaoTech LifeSystem to support the company's greenfield life insurance in China since its inception in December, 2001. eBaoTech Lifesystem has supported the joint venture's individual and group business operation of full range of products, providing solid support to their rapid product and geographic expansion despite the short turnaround time. In particular, by leveraging eBaoTech LifeSystem's web technology and paperless straight through processing capabilities, Taiping Life runs its back office processing through a national processing center to support more than 40 branches nationwide in real time, realizing significant benefits in reducing cost, speeding up geographic expansion, improving service quality and risk control.



4 PICC Life

PICC Life is a life insurance joint venture between big players such as PICC Holdings Ltd (China's largest insurer), Sumitomo Life Insurance of Japan, Asia Financial Holdings Ltd. (0662.HK:) and Bangkok Bank (BBL.BK:).

The company is the first foreign venture to receive a nationwide license, meaning it doesn't need further regulatory approvals to open new branches.

By combining PICC's brand and management base with Sumitomo's methods and technology and Bangkok Bank's experience in selling insurance products through a bank network, PICC Life is poised to become a valuable player in the China insurance market.

PICC Life signed agreement in April 2005 to license eBaoTech LifeSystem and eBaoTech AgentOffice. It opens for business on November 18, 2005 using eBaoTech LifeSystem.



4 Huatai Life

Huatai Life Insurance is a new life insurance company in Beijing founded by Huatai Insurance as well as investment from world renowned ACE International. HTL is aiming to develop products and offer services nationally in China, and this requires a robust and scalable IT system to support all their back office operations.

In November 2004, Huatai Life decided to use eBaoTech LifeSystem to support HTL's operations. The flexibility of the eBaoTech LifeSystem has provided Huatai Life with a strategic advantage in starting up new businesses. eBaoTech staff worked closely with Huatai and successfully implemented LifeSystem in five months. Huatai Life has passed the inspection by China Insurance Regulatory Commission and open for business on April 6th 2005.



4 Union Life Insurance Company

Union Life Insurance Company is a newly set up insurance company invested by several large private enterprises in China. It is the first local insurer headquatered in Central Chinese city of Wuhan.

Union Life Insurance Company finally selected the eBaoTech LifeSystem to manage their life operations in China.



4 CITIC Prudential Life Insurance

CITIC Prudential Life Insurance, a joint venture between London-based Prudential and China International Trust & Investment Corp was awarded a license by the China Insurance Regulatory Commission (CIRC) to sell group life insurance business in January 2005. After careful evaluation conducted by selected insurance experts across the region (Hong Kong, Taiwan and mainland China), CITIC Prudential chose eBaoTech Group LifeSystem as the strategic platform to manage their group insurance operations. They will be offering group life insurance products in Q2 2005.

CITIC Prudential Life is the first Sino-British life insurance joint venture, and is already among the top five providers in the Guangzhou market in terms of new business. Since CITIC Prudential's launch in Guangzhou in 2000, they have seen great success in the China market and today have several branches (Guangzhou, Beijing, Suzhou and Shanghai) throughout the country. eBaoTech will work closely with CITIC Prudential for a long term strategy to support them as they continue to aggressively grow their presence in China reaching out to more and more customers.



4 Nissay-Greatwall Life Insurance
Nissay-Greatwall Life Insurance is a joint venture between Nippon Life Insurance Company of Japan and China Great Wall Asset Management Corporation, formerly Nissay-SVA Life Insurance Co., Ltd. Their strategy involves focusing on first individual business of the China market. Established in September, 2003, Nissay-Greatwall Life Insurance provides insurance coverage to group business in Shanghai, then will spread all over the country.

Nissay-Greatwall Life Insurance Co., Ltd has signed the agreement with eBaoTech to use the eBaoTech LifeSystem for managing their group business in China.


4 Ping An Insurance of China

Ping An licensed the whole eBaoTech AutoClaim for the re-engineering of its national motor claim processing and management. eBaoTech customized and integrated AutoClaim with Ping An's motor insurance underwriting system to achieve real time data exchange. The implementation was completed within three months and realized web-based paperless claim process and centralized management, which made Ping An the first of the breed in China.



4 Samsung Air China Life Insurance

Samsung Air China is a joint venture between Samsung Life Insurance Company of Korea and Air China Group in China.

Samsung Life is a leading insurance company in Korea with more than 45% market share. After vigorous iterations of evaluations, eBaoTech LifeSystem emerge as the ultimate choice to help Samsung Air China Life manage their back office operations. In addition, Samsung Air China Life has also chosen to integrate eBaoTech AgentOffice with the eBaoTech LifeSystem to reap maximum benefits in terms of best practices. eBaoTech AgentOffice is a sales administration tool that helps agents work more efficiently by automating processes such as quotation and is currently used by many agents from major insurers in China today.

This project emphases the feature rich capability and potential of the LifeSystem due to its flexible integration component. The system went live in May 2005.
